great diamond stone
Great diamond stone for sharpening carbide tips. Aggressive and cuts quickly. 30 seconds each time before you ski and you will have razor sharp tips. Also will not overheat the tip like a bench grinder can. Careful to maintain the "angle" of the tip and not roll the edge over.

Don't expect anything fancy
This is nothing more than a flat piece of thin aluminum sprayed/coated with diamond grit on one side with fairly sharp edges. It does work and has a larger area than the swix one. Be careful when you are using to use gloves so you don't cut your hand open. Comment from RollerskiShop.com: It's thin steel. Yes thin, but no need to be thick. Very study so won't be flimsy. Edges are bit sharp, but not like a knife. You'll find the course diamond surface is very durable, and will sharpen ferrules much quicker than the one by Swix and others. If you know of a hand diamond file that is more course and longer lasting, let us know as we feel this is the best one in the nordic market and better than anything on Amazon.

Extra course ferrule file
This is a great tool to have in addition to a small folding pocket file (that I carry in my water bottle waist pack). But this larger one will outlast 10 of those pocket ones, and is now what I use on a daily basis.

This file, for the money, is the best around.....sharpens tips easily and to perfection! It's a good size, and fits in the hand easily. Should last many outings!!
